What is Claude Design?

Claude Design is a research-preview design tool by Anthropic Labs. It generates high-fidelity prototypes, slide decks, and templated layouts from a conversation, grounded in design systems, screenshots, codebases, and Figma files you provide.

How is it different from Figma or other design tools?

Claude Design is conversation-first. You describe what you want and supply context (design system, references, code), and Claude generates the prototype, slides, or animation directly on a canvas. You then iterate by chatting rather than dragging primitives.

What types of projects can I create?

Four entry points: New prototype (wireframe or high-fidelity), Slide deck (with optional speaker notes), From template (e.g. timeline-based animation), and Other for general projects. All can be grounded in a custom design system.

Why does it ask for my email when I send a request?

During the research preview Claude Design is rate-limited. When the system is at peak capacity, leaving your email lets us send usage credits as compensation once capacity opens up.
